The Great Western Railway currently provides the train services in the Swindon area and the line is currently benefitting from a £350million upgrade to signalling to prepare for expansion on the line and electrification.

Track lowering at Ermin Street

Network Rail need to lower the track under the listed Roman Road/Ermin Street bridge to create room for the Overhead Line Equipment that will power the new electric trains.

Bikes on trains

Since 16th May 2016, Great Western Railway have introduced compulsory bicycle reservations on high speed train services. There will also be restrictions on carrying bikes on peak hour rail services.
