The Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan is a significant step towards transforming active travel in the borough. The Plan proposes significant investment in the region of £14m by 2036, improving the environment for cyclists and pedestrians, focusing on plugging missing links, as well as improvements along our urban continuous cycle routes, and leisure network. We’re aiming to provide high quality infrastructure to ensure Swindon is a town where cycling and walking are the preferred choices for shorter trips and to access public transport.
What stage are we at?
Working with local stakeholders, we have completed an initial draft document.
This draft plan is due to be published as part of a public consultation in 2021.
