About this ride
Starting at the Town Gardens Cafe we’ll scoot out the sneaky side exit and then head towards Mill Lane. We’ll follow traffic-free cycle paths towards Westlea and up along Shaw Ridge Linear Park. From here we’ll pop into Lydiard Park cafe to enjoy a nice hot drink and maybe a mince pie. After a short stop we’ll heat back towards the Town Gardens via Grange Park, Great Western Way cycle path and the Old Town railway path. Finishing at the Town Gardens Cafe where extra hot drinks and mince pies are optional!
Away from the busy roads we’ll enjoy plenty of Swindon’s hidden greenspaces along the way.
As with all the ‘Potter on Pedals’ rides we take the quietest and greenest routes around Swindon using the network of traffic-free cycle paths and the occasional short section of quiet road.
We’ll take a short break to enjoy the views at Lydiard Park.
Under 16’s must wear helmets and we also recommend that adults wear them too. Bring along a drink and a snack if needed.
These rides are social rides and speed is discouraged, it’s all about exploring your local area in a friendly, supportive group. There is no need for lycra (just wear what’s most comfortable) and we welcome all types of cycles and riders. If you have any questions please feel free to message me beforehand 🙂
