Starting from – We meet outside Shrivenham primary school at 9.45 before a prompt start at 10am. There is some free parking but please come by bike if you can.
Our route takes out via Hinton Parva and Chisledon to Wroughton and we return using the NCN route 45 to get us into Coate Water Country Park, where we join the Dorcan Round before we pop under the A419 for the climb into Wanborough and rejoin the out leg at Hinton parva.
All our rides are generally on quieter roads and sometimes on narrow lanes where we have to share the road with cars. About 4 miles of the return leg will be on traffic free cycle path as we join the National Cycle Network to get in to Swindon.
Our Coffee’n’cake’n’chat stop will be at a new vintage tea room in Wroughton.
For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted on then a spanner that fits the nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or card for the coffee stop.
We welcome new comers to our ride group, but we want you to enjoy the ride so please consider the route, distance and terrain. If this ride is likely to be a bit difficult then check out our other rides which we put on for newbies and returners and join us on something easier to start with.
