Making local bus travel more accessible
This week (10 June), Swindon Borough Council were pleased to work alongside Swindon’s Bus Company and local transport partners to help make bus travel across our town more accessible for everyone.
At an event held at the Fleming Way transport hub, a bus was on site for two dedicated sessions supporting people with learning disabilities and those with autism. The sessions focused on making boarding buses a simple, clear and confident experience.
It was also a great opportunity to hear directly from residents, with valuable feedback shared with transport providers to help shape and improve local services.
Thank you to everyone who took part, including partners at Get Swindon Moving, the Learning Disability Partnership, and Swindon Advocacy Movement (SAM). Together, we’re working to create a more inclusive transport network for Swindon.
