Local residents will have an opportunity to view how plans are progressing for Swindon’s newest sports hub at three upcoming drop-in events.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Wiltshire FA had been named as the preferred operating partner for the Wichelstowe Community Sports Hub, which will be located between Middle and East Wichel.
Almost 400 people took part in an engagement exercise earlier this year which has helped to inform the plans for the sports hub.
WroughtonParishCouncil is working alongside the Borough Council and Wiltshire FA to develop the plans which will include football facilities, multi-use games areas, children’s play areas, a pavilion with a café, flexible community rooms and changing rooms.
Anyone who wants to see how the sports hub is shaping up can pop along to the following drop-in events:

A planning application for the sports hub is expected to be submitted later this summer. Subject to planning, it is hoped construction could start in 2026.
