About this ride
A ride almost entirely on cycle paths following one of Swindon three popular 7 mile signed cycling routes. Pick up a copy of the Swindon Cycle Map for all the info but basically we go from Coate Water to Great Western Hospital, then to Liden, Covingham, Greenbridge, we go close by the County Ground before making our way back to Coate Water along Marlborough Rd.
Suitable for people of all ages including accompanied children.
Once you’ve done it with us you’ll be able to do it again on your own. 99% of this route is traffic free; a few hundred yards or so is on the residential road by Queens Drive
The kiosk at Coate Water sells basic food and drinks so you can refresh yourself and have a chat at the end of the ride
In these difficult times please try and bring a face mask; you will only have to wear it in the event of first aid being required. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted on then a spanner that fits the nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory for adults but most definitely recommended. All children must wear a helmet. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with credit or debit card for the kiosk at the end (They only take card payment at the moment)
We especially welcome newbies!
