The Urban Round is a circular route of 17 miles taking you around the paths across Swindon's urban area.
NCN Route 45 that links Taw Hill with the Western Flyer is closed from 4th September 2023 until Autumn 2024, which will affect the western part of the Urban round.
The route takes you through Stratton, Nythe and Liden to the east, along Marlborough Road, looping through Old Town and along the railway path to West Swindon, then hooking up with the Route 45 to North Swindon, around Thamesdown Drive and back through Abbey Meads and Penhill. You can join the route anywhere and travel it in either direction. The route is a combination of traffic-free concrete paths, gravelled Route 45 / railway path and quiet streets.
