Difficult times can often bring out the best in people and Matt Jones, who runs local bike repair business “Run & Repair” is no exception. Since April, he has repaired and donated over 70 bikes to NHS and key workers, and now he’s turning his attention to Christmas.
In his “Christmas children’s bike amnesty” he is looking for donations of pre-loved children’s bikes in good condition to be repaired ready to gift to children from families who have been hard hit this year.
So, if you have any pre-loved children’s bikes that you can donate to the scheme, please get in touch with Matt :

Matt started the scheme during lockdown as he wanted to do something to support people fulfilling important roles for their communities. Most of the beneficiaries have been women, who are underrepresented in cycling, and many who have not cycled for years.
There are drop off locations in Peatmoor and Greenbridge, so if you have a bike to donate, please get in touch with Matt.
