Stagecoach introduce new bus routes this month

Stagecoach West is introducing a refreshed Swindon Town bus network from Sunday 29th June 2025, following a comprehensive review and valuable customer feedback. These changes are designed to improve connectivity, reliability, and access across the town and surrounding areas. Highlights include an enhanced Service 53 with more daytime journeys plus a brand-new Sunday service, and an extension to the Orbital Shopping Centre supported by Wiltshire Council.

Passengers will also benefit from faster links from Abbey Farm and Tadpole Garden Village to key destinations such as Swindon Designer Outlet, Swindon Town Centre and the Orbital Shopping Centre. Service 10 will be replaced by a combination of new and extended services to better serve local communities.

New and Updated Services

• NEW Service 4 – Swindon Town Centre – Cheney Manor – Orbital Centre – Tadpole Garden Village (loop)
  • Every 20 mins (Mon–Sat), every 30 mins (Sun)
  • Replaces parts of Service 10, offering faster links to Orbital Shopping Centre and Swindon Designer Outlet

• Service 7 – Freshbrook – Link Centre – Town Centre – Greenbridge – South Marston – Highworth
  • Every 20 mins (Mon–Sat), every 30 mins (Sun)
  • Now connects Freshbrook and South Marston Industrial Estate at key shift times
  • Replaces parts of Service 10

• NEW Service 8 / 8A – Swindon Town Centre – Kingsdown – Greenbridge – Town Centre
  • Every 15 mins (Mon–Sat), every 30 mins (Sun)
  • 8 / 8A operate in opposite directions, providing a frequent loop service
  • Replaces parts of Service 10 and introduces new links for Ermin Street residents

• Service 53 – Swindon – Purton – Cricklade – Orbital Shopping Centre
  • More off-peak journeys (Mon–Sat) and a new Sunday service (5 return trips)
  • Now extended to Orbital Shopping Centre between 10am–3pm
  • Supported by Wiltshire Council funding

Withdrawn Service

• Service 10 will be withdrawn, in line with resident feedback and replaced by:
  • Service 4 – Tadpole Garden Village & Abbey Farm
  • Service 7 – Freshbrook to Town Centre
  • Service 8 – Kingsdown to Town Centre

Additional Information

• Queensfield: Service withdrawn – in line with resident feedback
• Highworth: Slight reduction in frequency (from every 15 to 20 mins), but improved links to key destinations
• Cricklade Road: Continues to be served by Service 51
