Join in this ramble around the South Swindon Green Trail on Friday 11th April 2025.
It’s 8 miles in total, but we can offer bail out points where you can catch a bus back if you’re not feeling up to the whole route. You can join the walk at any of the 4 departure points below:
Departure: Wichelstowe (outside East Wichel Primary school) at 10am
Departure: Wharf Green at 11am
Departure: Oakfield (Swindog sculpture) at 12pm
Departure Coate cafe: 1.15pm

The Wichelstowe Walking Competition ran through the summer of 2022 where we asked residents to submit their favourite walk in the Wichelstowe area.
The winning walks are now part of a new magazine, which is available from local libraries, and interactive maps for your phone.

The Wichelstowe travel plan has achieved silver accreditation from national organisation Modeshift. This means that it has been recognised as a “very good” travel plan. Now the work begins to increase this to gold, meaning it is “excellent”!
Congratulations to Wichelstowe resident Rhianna Taylor who receives a £100 Waitrose voucher as a prize from the resident travel survey.
